Two  effective methods to prevent contamination in beverage CO2 cylinders

A contaminated beverage CO2 cylinder is all too common, yet avoidable with proper equipment and procedures. . Contamination is typically caused when beverage syrup backflows through the cylinder valve and then back into the CO2 cylinder. A contaminated cylinder can be a costly scenario, from both financial(cost of cleaning a contaminated cylinder) and health (safe for human consumption) perspectives Here are two methods recommended by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) for helping to control contamination and backflow. These specific recommendations can be found on CGA G-6.3 & CGA G-6.8.
