Designed for ease of use, without sacrificing performance
Sherwood moved away from the older cap-style Pressure Relief Device (PRD) in favor of a unitized plug design that provides excellent flow characteristics while ensuring proper assembly and tamper resistance. This makes the GSV & GSHV valves much easier to install without worrying about over torquing.
An improved metal-to-metal seal below the bonnet threads prevents pressure in the threads at the top of the valve body. To reduce friction and ensure exceptionally low torque levels, the GSV & GSHV valves feature a direct-drive stem design with optimized O-ring (GSV) or double O-ring (GSHV) seal. This means the valve turns incredibly smoothly even when under pressure.
Finally, valve inlets are tapped on the bottom to easily accommodate a dip tube.
